My storytime fave this week is Red Sled by Lita Judge. This is that rare nearly-wordless book that works well in storytime. The illustrations are magical, with even the youngest kids in my drop-in storytime able to translate them into a verbal story. And what words there are, are simply magical, especially gadung, gadung, gadung! Fabulous.
I have to admit I was skeptical about this one as a readaloud, but having read it to 4 or 5 groups now, everyone has loved it! I’m so glad to be wrong sometimes. I’d like to point out that I always thought the art was great. I especially like the WHOA! spreads. They are my favorites. 🙂
