Flannel Friday: Round

Not long ago, I did a storytime about things that are round.  After asking the kids to name some things that are round, we did this rhyme.

A little ball, a bigger ball, a great big ball I see,

Now let’s count the balls we’ve made,

1, 2, 3.

We used our hands to make the different sizes of balls, stretching our arms wide for the biggest one. Then we counted the balls on the flannelboard. The balls are laminated clip art.

We also sang If You’re Happy and You Know It, using this round faces flannel.

I’ve used this flannel for years (I believe the pattern is from one of the Liz and Dick Wilmes flannelboard books), but this time I added the descriptive words, after being inspired by this post from Miss Mary Liberry.

Linda from Notes from the Story Room is hosting Flannel Friday today. Be sure to visit the beautiful Flannel Friday Pinterest account. For more information about Flannel Friday visit the fabulous new website.
