Not long ago, I did a storytime about things that are round. After asking the kids to name some things that are round, we did this rhyme.
A little ball, a bigger ball, a great big ball I see,
Now let’s count the balls we’ve made,
1, 2, 3.
We used our hands to make the different sizes of balls, stretching our arms wide for the biggest one. Then we counted the balls on the flannelboard. The balls are laminated clip art.
We also sang If You’re Happy and You Know It, using this round faces flannel.
I’ve used this flannel for years (I believe the pattern is from one of the Liz and Dick Wilmes flannelboard books), but this time I added the descriptive words, after being inspired by this post from Miss Mary Liberry.

What a fun storytime idea! I love the way you and Miss Mary add the words to your flannel sets. Very creative!
